Copies of Records Recovered in the Philippine Islands
Scope and Content
This series consists of copies of records recovered in the Philippine Islands. The records were in the custody of the U.S. Army Forces Far East and its predecessor, the Philippine Department, until they were transferred to the custody of the Southwest Pacific Area. They were then collected by the Recovered Personnel Detachment starting in June 1945 and transferred to the Demobilized Personnel Records Branch in September 1948. They were finally in the custody of the Philippine Army Branch.
Media Occurrence Note
This microfilm copy is of poor quality and difficult to read. It appears to include copies of some documents that can be found elsewhere in paper records.
